welcom to the forum james dont listen to them landrover lads listen to jon and stick with suzuki get a jimny much better if your on a budget and verry capable little offroaders
nooo dont by any of that junk get a proper 4x4 that makes a proper noise get a v8 landy its the only way to go

and if its noise your afrter mine dosnt sound to bad with the straght through pipe on it lol

i was looking at a discovery but im not paying £1000 to insure it where a vitara is only £300

if its mostly offroad then look into getting a jimny, they're great little off roader but a bit lame on road
if its a mix of on and offroad then the vit is a bit better on the road

jon i think the flat plate welded to chassis is better as it is fixed and nothing can fail would not like to recover off that the forces going through that will be trying to twist the back of the chassis best stick to a flat plate with hole in the end  welded on loads stronger
